Porsche Museum Classics Make Trip to Dubai for Icons of Porsche 2025

A Legendary Lineup Arrives in the Desert

Dubai’s love affair with Porsche continues as the Porsche Heritage and Museum team returns to the UAE for the fifth consecutive year, bringing three of the most iconic machines in the brand’s history to the Icons of Porsche 2025 festival.

“Our team is all enthusiastic when it comes to Icons of Porsche in Dubai,” said Achim Stejskal, Director of Porsche Heritage and Museum, Porsche AG.
“Icons of Porsche is truly one of our highlights of the year. We are confident that the enthusiastic crowd will appreciate these dream machines.”

From Le Mans legends to rally conquerors, the 2025 edition promises a lineup that celebrates Porsche’s timeless design, motorsport DNA, and future vision — all set against Dubai’s skyline of innovation and luxury.

Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion — The Road-Legal Race Car

The 911 GT1 Strassenversion (German for “street version”) is the ultimate symbol of Porsche’s motorsport obsession. Born from the need to homologate a race car for endurance events, it blends the front of a 993-era 911 with the racing heart of a 962.

Underneath its sculpted carbon body lies a twin-turbo 3.2L flat-six, delivering over 530 horsepower, and performance figures that rival modern hypercars — 0–100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and a top speed near 310 km/h.

Only 25 examples were ever produced, making it one of Porsche’s rarest and most valuable creations.

Porsche 959 Paris-Dakar — The Rally King

In 1986, Porsche shocked the motorsport world when a 959 — a twin-turbo, all-wheel-drive supercar — conquered one of the toughest endurance challenges on Earth: the Paris-Dakar Rally.

Competing across 14,000 kilometers of brutal desert terrain, the 959’s advanced four-wheel-drive system and high-tech suspension proved unstoppable. The victory cemented Porsche’s position as an innovator in both racing and off-road engineering.

Today, one of the original Paris-Dakar 959s has been fully restored by the Porsche Museum, and will take center stage at Icons of Porsche 2025.

Porsche 917/30 Spyder — The Power Legend

Few race cars in history are as mythical as the Porsche 917, and the 917/30 Spyder in its Vaillant livery is a masterpiece of power and precision. Built in 1972, it was one of the final evolutions of the 917 line, featuring an extended wheelbase and a twin-turbo flat-12 engine capable of a mind-blowing 1,100 horsepower.

It dominated North America’s IMSA Can-Am series, where Mark Donohue set a closed-course world record at 355.848 km/h in a Sunoco-liveried version.

This 917/30, carrying its iconic turquoise and purple Vaillant colors, will arrive in Dubai alongside the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT wearing a modern reinterpretation of the same livery — a symbol of how Porsche bridges its legendary past with the future of performance.

Mission: Future Heritage

For Porsche, heritage is not just about the past — it’s the foundation of the future.
Under the campaign “Mission: Future Heritage”, the brand celebrates its ability to evolve while staying authentic.

At Icons of Porsche 2025, this philosophy takes shape as historic race cars share the stage with next-generation EVs like the Taycan Turbo GT, emphasizing how timeless design and innovation go hand in hand.

“The future of Porsche begins with its history.”

Icons of Porsche 2025 — A Festival Like No Other

This year’s Icons of Porsche will be held at Dubai Design District on 22–23 November 2025, featuring:

  • Classic Porsche icons from every era
  • Public debuts of new models
  • Live art, music, and motorsport-inspired installations
  • Exclusive food and beverage from Dubai’s top venues

Now in its fifth year, the event has become one of the largest Porsche gatherings outside Germany, attracting enthusiasts from across the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.

It’s more than just a car show — it’s a celebration of culture, craftsmanship, and community, mirroring Dubai’s status as a global hub for creativity and automotive excellence.
